Who we are

Wagging Tails Dog Rescue NY is a small volunteer and foster home based 501C3 rescue organization located in southern Westchester County, NY. We are dedicated to saving homeless dogs and puppies found in the most desperate and dire situations –  especially from international meat farms, kills shelters, puppy mills and abandoned dogs living on the streets.

All the dogs we take in to our rescue are transported to us in Westchester and then  on to our amazing Foster Homes where our volunteers open up their homes and hearts to these precious souls. Our foster homes are truly the backbone of our organization.  They take our recently rescued dogs into their homes, provide all of the socialization, training and love each specific dog needs to prepare them for their fur-ever homes.

Since Wagging Tails Dog Rescue NY takes in dogs from different areas of the country and internationally, we take care to ensure that each dog receives all age appropriate vetting necessary prior to adoption.  We work with 2 excellent local Veterinarian practices to provide our dogs with any vetting they need upon arrival – this includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, dental work as needed, heartworm testing, fecal tests, etc.

Once our dogs are fully vetted and cleared medically, they get posted for adoption and our excellent Application Volunteers work tirelessly to match up our dogs with their perfect adopters to meet their specific and individual needs.

Wagging Tails Dog Rescue NY is fully committed to saving helpless animals who cannot speak for themselves.  We could not continue with this life saving work without our generous donors, Foster Homes and Volunteers.
